Growth in our town is inevitable, and it needs to be managed properly.

Willow Park is the gateway to Parker County from the DFW Metroplex.

We can let growth happen around us, or be active participants that facilitate, guide and manage the growth to maximum benefit of the citizens.

Appropriate infrastructure improvements have to be in place to facilitate that growth, and should be timed ahead of that growth, or at least concurrently.
Water and Wastewater are essential to growth. The recent agreement with Fort Worth / Hudson Oaks for water was a great cooperative step. These kinds of agreements and relationships will be crucial as we continue our growth trajectory.
Roads are a major issue in our city. As we grow, we cannot neglect our existing infrastructure and should prioritize improvements to the benefit of our citizens.
Police and other city services must scale for growth as well, with appropriate staffing and funding levels.

Sales Tax Revenues should be maximized in order to increase funding for city services, while allowing for reductions in property tax rates.
Parks and other public spaces are important as growth occurs to maintain Willow Park's quality of life.
Neighborhood parks and playgrounds should be negotiated with any residential developers. Parks and public areas can create a sense of unity around neighborhoods and the city.
Sports fields (soccer, baseball, etc.) can be an important economic generator to our city, as well as maintaining green spaces and parks for our citizens.

In support of the measured growth our city will experience, we need to be a city that businesses and other partner municipalities want to work with. Cooperation is better than confrontation.
Developers should see Willow Park as a positive place to do business.
Conversely, we should expect those developers to share a vision of a vibrant and livable Willow Park, and support our goals for parks, infrastructure and residential norms.

We can do more to support our local citizens when we work in concert with our local community partners.
Working with State, County and neighboring communities allow us to do more than we can alone.
